The industrial edge platform from Fireball Industries.
EmberNET is a platform, not a single product: the operating system, the zero-trust network, the console, and the apps, working as one from the Industrial PC on your machine to one screen for every site.
Control back in your hands, all the way down the stack.
We built Fireball Industries to put control back in manufacturers' hands, free of costly proprietary tools and data lock-in. EmberNET carries the same idea into the platform your automation runs on.
It sits at the edge, on your floor, not in someone else's cloud, and connects to your existing PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems without disrupting running processes. Nothing is exposed on the plant network: every connection is outbound, and access follows identity rather than an open port.
From the box on the machine to one console.
Each part of EmberNET does one job, and all of them share one identity, one network, and one console.
- Hardware
Industrial PCs
Velasea industrial PCs, tested and validated for EmberNET, on x86-64 or ARM64. Velasea is EmberNET’s hardware partner.
- Operating system
EmberRTOS
EmberNET’s own immutable edge OS, with a real-time kernel on a switch. EmberRTOS Desktop adds a local screen for nodes where your own application needs one.
- Enrollment
EmberNET Endpoint
The Linux and Windows client that enrolls a machine and carries its tunnels, with no inbound ports.
- Network
EmberFLUX
Zero-trust networking and a maintenance tunnel. Access by identity, outbound on 443 only, and no open ports at the plant.
- Console
EmberCORE
One console for every site and every app: live node status, role-based views, tenant scope, the App Store, and an exportable audit trail.
- Applications
App Store
CODESYS runtimes, Ignition Edge, Node-RED, databases, monitoring and more, deployed to the node you choose.
Two numbers, and where they come from.
Worst-case real-time latency on EmberRTOS
Held through a 24 hour soak and about 627 million wake-ups, with the real-time kernel switched on, on a Raspberry Pi 5. The stress load was pinned to the housekeeping core, so the real-time cores stayed isolated. That is four to nine times inside the 100 to 200 µs band an industrial control loop needs.
The full results on embernet.aiAustin to Cleveland, over EmberNET
An engineer in Austin, Texas downloaded the PLC application from the CODESYS IDE to a virtual PLC on an Industrial PC in Cleveland, Ohio, over EmberNET, with no VPN, no port forwarding, and nothing exposed on the plant network. That project is deployed with the client today.
How CODESYS runs on EmberNETBuilt to work with the platforms you already trust.
- CODESYS: Fireball Industries is a CODESYS partner, and CODESYS has approved Fireball as a CODESYS Technology Partner, with the announcement to follow.
- Velasea: EmberNET’s hardware partner. Every system in the Velasea collection for Fireball Industries is tested and validated for EmberNET.
- Inductive Automation and SORBA: Ignition and SORBA run on EmberNET from the App Store.
Priced per control plane, never per node.
EmberNET is priced per organization and sized by control planes, so adding nodes never adds licenses. The Pilot is free, one per organization, for evaluation, development, and training.
